FEMALE REBEL COLLECTION
FEMALE REBEL BEGAN AS A PAINTING EXERCISE.
I SET OUT TO EXPLORE THE EXPRESSIVE POSSIBILITIES OF A SINGLE COLOUR, CURIOUS TO SEE HOW FAR I COULD GO WITHIN A DELIBERATELY LIMITED PALETTE. SOMEWHERE ALONG THE WAY, I REALISED I WAS NO LONGER STUDYING RED.
WITHOUT PLANNING IT, THE WORK BECAME AN EXPLORATION OF THE FEMALE CONDITION - SHAPED BY THE WOMEN I HAD BEEN READING, LISTENING TO, AND THINKING ABOUT.
WHAT BEGAN AS A STUDY OF ONE COLOUR BECAME A STUDY OF WOMANHOOD.
A study of strength, contradiction, vulnerability, and the many ways of being a woman

Part of the Female Rebel series, this original abstract painting explores strength as something complex rather than absolute.
Built through multiple translucent layers of deep crimson, burgundy, and near-black tones, the work moves between concealment and revelation. Broad gestures remain visible beneath the surface, creating a sense of movement that feels both deliberate and instinctive.
What began as an exploration of a single colour gradually evolved into a reflection on resilience, contradiction, and the many versions of ourselves that coexist beneath the surface.
